Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he wants to compromise with Russia over the Donbass issue, which has been controlled by pro-Russian separatist rebels.
According to Reuters, President Zelensky said in a video interview with a Russian journalist on the 27th local time.
"I am ready to discuss adopting neutral status as part of a peace treaty with Russia, but it will have to be guaranteed by a third party and put to a referendum," Zelensky said.
"The Russian invasion has destroyed Russian-speaking cities in Ukraine," he added.
